Through major speculation and a few rumors being handed down in the past day, some evidence has opened up about TellTale making a Game of Thrones video game likened to their Walking Dead & Wolf Among Us games.
Originally the books “A Song of Ice and Fire” with the first book being the better known “Game of Thrones”.
Nothing further has been said what title Telltale will be using for the game, or what the plot for the game will involve, but the stories are told from a different characters view with each passing chapter. This exact style was used in TellTale’s The Walking Dead 400 Day’s DLC not too long ago, indicating that could have been a test of the welcome it would receive, or of TellTale’s SKILL.
Last October Dan Connors – TellTale CEO – had this to say “Telltale can’t wait to announce its upcoming projects, and noted that it’s working on licenses that “definitely fall into our dream IP scenario.”
TellTale is no stranger to taking a movie or a series and making it something inspiring, their most recent release The Wolf Among us has been well received, and their Walking Dead series even won a few awards. TellTale is comfortable in a situation like this, and if the rumours are true then this could be a truly epic game. It’s only a matter of time before something official comes out on the subject, and hopefully an announcement if it will be a different story than the books’ or if it will follow the TV show.
This isn’t the only project TellTale has going at the moment. Currently working on a second episode of The Wolf Among us and a follow up season to their best seller The Walking Dead, TellTale has a lot on their plate.
This is also not the first Game of Thrones video game coming out, or being worked on. BigPoint has a browser-based MMO “Game of Thrones: Seven Kingdoms” and the Game of Thrones RPG from Atlus.
